Hi Y'all,

We are a husband and wife team who are close to retirement age.  Yep, Older than dirt!  We live on a farm and both love to tinker with leather to make beautiful handcrafted "usable" items at an affordable price.. This weekend, we created a handcrafted livestock counter book holder with extras. We love the way it came out. This is both usable and looks great. And oh, that leather smell is spectacular.

Let's talk about Brands!

Wow, brands have been around a long time!  Cattle branding, the practice of permanently marking livestock with a distinctive symbol to indicate ownership, has a long history, dating back thousands of years. It began in ancient Egypt, with the earliest records appearing in tomb paintings around 2700 BC. The practice then spread to other parts of the world, including Europe and the Americas, where it became vital in the context of large-scale cattle ranching.

Brands often tell a story about the ranch's history, family lineage, or the landscape of the ranch itself. Many ranchers take great pride in their brands as a family legacy.

This holder is not only practical with added places for checks, cards, or good old cash, but it is beautiful.

Thank you for visiting our blog.

Y'all come back now any time!
